The Old Courthouse Community Centre is one of the 402 Neighbourhood Houses and Learning Centres and 16 regional Neighbourhood House Networks across Victoria. The centre is seen as a valued hub for information, learning and training programs.

We are a member of the South West Neighbourhood House Network working alongside the Hamilton Community House, Portland Neighbourhood House program, Pt. Fairy Community House, Warrnambool Neighbourhood & Community Centre, Camperdown District Community House and Simpson & District Community Centre Inc.

Our peak body is the The Association of Neighbourhood Houses and Learning Centres (ANHLC)

The services we offer enable our community to:

  •   Stay healthy and active through programs such as the Men’s Shed and Ladies Lounge.
  •   Providing  support to frail, aged, people with a disability and those from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  •   Coordination of reassuring morning calls to members in the community, giving security in knowing that contact is made and monitored daily.
  •   Strenghten social connection through teleconference and planned activity group activities.
  •   Develop skills to secure a good job by participation in our accredited and pre- accredited Learn Local courses
  •   Provide one on one custer assistance for those on Centrelink benefits

The centre has the ability to respond quickly to assist families recovering from natural disasters such as fire and flood. Importantly our Committee of Management, staff and volunteers have a strong community focus. This motivation and community knowledge enables this centre to respond quickly and effectively to the district’s need.
